The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Dear Father, thank you for always being with us. We believe that you can do all things. We trust in you. Thank you for your peace and protection.
In Jesus’ Name
He climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.
How easy it can be for us to be like the disciples, sailing through life, caught up in our own concerns, focused on ourselves. We, too, can become complacent about our relationship with Jesus. We can fail to grasp all that he’s made available to us, not realizing that he is with us in every situation, that his presence alone brings peace, that he is present with His full authority and power. Don’t allow your heart to be hardened. Remember: Jesus is “in the boat” with you. Trust in him. Believe that nothing is impossible.
If we can just let go and trust that things will work out they way they’re supposed to, without trying to control the outcome, then we can begin to enjoy the moment more fully. The joy of the freedom it brings becomes more pleasurable than the experience itself.
